Late-life depression in individuals with Alzheimer's disease and healthy Lead Investigator: Janneke Koerts Institution : University of Groningen, The Netherlands E-Mail : janneke.koerts@rug.nl Proposal ID : 973 Proposal Description: With this proposal, we want to investigate whether A?? burden interacts with VRF/VI to increase the risk of developing depressive symptoms. We investigate this in a hierarchical manner by first testing the effects of A?? burden and VRF/VI on depressive symptoms separately and then in a final step to investigate the interaction between A?? and VRF/VI. We investigate this separately for people with AD and for healthy people to establish whether there are disease-specific mechanisms. Hypotheses: 1) People with clinically meaningful depression will have lower CSF A??-42 levels than people without clinically meaningful depression 2) People with clinically meaningful depression will show more VRF/VI than people without clinically meaningful depression 3) A?? and VRF/VI will interact and thereby additionally increase depressive symptoms
